We provide answers to general questions, bathroom wet zones, kitchen areas, floors, wall cladding, and grout restoration.

General Tiling FAQs

For a standard bathroom, tile removal, screed prep, waterproofing, tiling, and grouting takes 3 to 5 days. For standard living room floors (approx. 50mยฒ), laying rectified porcelain takes 2 to 4 days, assuming the subfloor screed is already flat.
We do not recommend tiling over existing tiles. On walls, it adds excessive weight that can delaminate plasterboard. On floors, it raises floor levels, creating threshold mismatches, and can trap hidden moisture or hollow zones underneath.

Bathroom Tiling FAQs

Shower walls and wet floors require liquid waterproofing membranes applied prior to tile setting. Always select matte or textured porcelain with a minimum R10 rating for bathroom floors.

Kitchen Tiling FAQs

Tiling before installing cabinets is recommended for a flat cabinet baseline and clean lines. Backsplashes can be tiled after countertops are fitted.

Floor Tiling FAQs

Large format tiles (60x60cm and above) require leveling clips to eliminate edge lippage. In high-rise towers, sound-mitigation underlayment is often required.

Wall Tiling FAQs

Ensure the wall substrate is render or plasterboard securely fixed to wall studs. Use anti-slip C2-grade adhesives for vertical walls.

Tile Repair FAQs

Hollow tiles should be replaced promptly. We can safely remove individual cracked pieces without affecting surrounding tiles.

Grout Cleaning FAQs

Restore mouldy grout using alkaline solutions and steam extraction. Protect clean grout with penetrating hydrophobic sealers.

Additional FAQs
